Meet Micah Loyd
North Brevard raised. Business tested.
Community proven.
Micah Loyd grew up in North Brevard, attending Apollo Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and Titusville High School. After graduating from the University of North Florida in 2001, Micah returned home and continued building his life, business, and public service around the community that raised him.
As a State Certified General Contractor, second-generation business owner, and longtime Port Canaveral Commissioner, Micah brings real-world experience, financial discipline, and qualified leadership to the race for Brevard County Commission District 1.
Micah’s story starts here. He grew up in North Brevard, went to local schools, built his career here, and has spent decades serving the community through business, public service, and local boards.
For Micah, this campaign is personal. North Brevard is not just a district on a map — it is home.
North Brevard Roots
Rooted in North Brevard
“North Brevard deserves qualified, competent leadership that understands this community and is ready to get to work.”
— Micah Loyd
Proven Leadership at Port Canaveral
For the last 10 years, Micah has served the community as a Commissioner at Port Canaveral. During his time at the Port, he has focused on strong financial policies, protecting the community’s best interest, supporting commercial fishing, improving recreation access, advancing boat ramp construction, and keeping local priorities at the forefront.
His experience at the Port has given him firsthand knowledge of regional growth, economic development, infrastructure, budgets, and the importance of balancing opportunity with the needs of local residents.
“At the Port, I learned that strong leadership means protecting local interests, making sound financial decisions, and planning for growth without forgetting the people we serve.”
— Micah Loyd
Real-World Experience. Business Discipline.
Micah has been a State Certified General Contractor since 2002 and has served as owner of his Titusville local business, Loyd Contracting, since 2014. As a second-generation business owner, he understands budgets, timelines, permitting, planning, jobs, and the responsibility that comes with making decisions that affect local businesses, taxpayers, families, and employees
Project highlights include:
The Grove Church, 300 S. Washington Ave, Brevard Humane Society, Fisher Nissan, Good Shepherd Fellowship Hall, and other local projects.
“I’m running to bring a real world experience, a business owner’s discipline, and proven public-service leadership to county government.”
— Micah Loyd
Decades of Community Involvement
Micah has served on numerous community boards over the last 25 years, including the Titusville Variance Board, Chairman of the SPCA Board, Titusville Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Commission, Space Coast Industrial Park Board, and others.
That record reflects a simple belief: leadership starts with showing up, listening, and serving before asking for a vote.
“Leadership does not start when you run for office. It starts by showing up, serving, listening, and doing the work long before there is a campaign.”
— Micah Loyd
WHY MICAH IS RUNNING
Micah is running because he has seen what poor leadership can do to a community. North Brevard struggled after the loss of space jobs in 2011, and today the community is facing a very different challenge: record growth.
A lifelong member of this community, Micah has spent years giving back — supporting the SPCA, the Humane Society, and countless local causes that make North Brevard a better place to live. As a Canaveral Port Authority Commissioner, he's stood up for residents when it mattered most, leading the effort to reject the Merritt Island LNG plant to protect our families and our lagoon. And as a local business owner, he understands firsthand what it takes to grow responsibly, manage a budget, and create good jobs. With that experience, Micah is ready to work alongside state and federal agencies, space companies, and local leaders to deliver real results for District 1.
Micah believes Brevard County needs leaders who can balance healthy growth with quality of life, protect taxpayers, improve infrastructure, and work effectively with state and federal agencies, space companies, local businesses, and community leaders.
“I’ve seen what happens when North Brevard does not have the leadership it deserves. With record growth ahead, we need qualified, competent leadership that can get results.”
— Micah Loyd
